Dauphin Plains Credit Union knows how important it is to you that your child knows about financing, that they are prepared for their future. We proudly present FATCAT, a special account designed for children twelve and under.

Why should I get FATCAT for my child?
The benefits of the FATCAT plan are numerous. When you sign your child signs up for FATCAT, they will receive a quarterly statement of activity and their very own FATCAT passbook in their account. They will see how their money works, and where their money goes.

Every month, your child's FATCAT account pays interest, which is calculated on a daily basis. We offer very competitive interest rates to ensure that your child will receive the most money possible. If you purchase a FATCAT savings account, your child receives bonus interest.

Our Incentive Plan for Your Child
There are also incentives for your child to use FATCAT. Each child will receive a free gift upon registration, and we offer bi-weekly draws for great prizes. On your child's birthday, they will receive a birthday card from Dauphin Plains Credit Union. Children can also work toward special incentive prizes by collecting stickers on their incentive cards. Once they collect ten stickers they can receive special prizes, including puzzles, bookmarks, sticker sheets, careful kids books, shoe laces, picture magnets, water bottles, rulers, lunch bags & height charts.

FatCat Club

The FATCAT Club is an exclusive club for our FATCAT account holders. While being a member of the FATCAT Club, your child will learn the importance of money and the importance of saving it. The financial education they receive here will benefit them for years.

Your Child and Dauphin Plains Credit Union: an Investment Worth Making
When you purchase a FATCAT Account for your child, you are not only investing in their future, but in Dauphin Plains Credit Union as well. Dauphin Plains Credit Union pays a $5.00 share when account opened with $5.00 or more deposit. Dauphin Plains Credit Union will also defer your child's participation in out Member Common Share Subscription Plan.

Some Things to Keep in Mind
FATCAT accounts make great gifts for any occasion, and can be purchased by parents, grandparents, family, or friends. As a parent, you have full access to your child's FATCAT account.

There are no service charges for FATCAT. This includes telephone (CU by Phone) and online (CU@Home) banking.

There are several options available as part of FATCAT. We offer term deposits in amounts as low as $100, enhanced savings plan which allows for Guaranteed Investment Certificates to be purchased for as low as $100.
